Qualifications:  30 plus years of project and program management of multi-million dollar transportation capital investments.  Short and long term planning experience of regional and statewide transportation needs.  

 

ALTON W. ROYAL-Vice Chair  

Education:  B.S/MEd. degrees
Current Job Status:  Retired
Qualifications:  Served as Counselor to college Students; assistant VP Student Affairs; Director Student Financial Aid; Director/Coordinator of scholarships and private grants.  As Director of Financial Aid, planned/organized/directed and administrated a comprehensive program involving an estimated 16,000+ applicants annually.  Also managed scholarships and private grants programs for the FAMU Foundation.

 

  
MICHAEL E. BROWN -Treasurer
Education:  B.S Accounting; Masters Applied Social Sciences 
Current Job Status:  Director, Investments, FAMU Foundation 
Qualifications:  Certified Public Accountant (CPA); 30 plus years of financial experience as an Auditor, Economic Development Professional, and Investment Director.  Knowledgeable experience in evaluating investments opportunities as well as dealing with auditing/compliance issues.  
 
WANDA L. FORD - Secretary  
Education:  B.S. Accounting; M.S. Organizational Management; D.M. Management In Organization Leadership 
Current Job Status:  Interim Director, Title III Programs, FAMU. 
Qualifications:  4 years banking/accounting experience; and 13 years experiences at the upper-management level to include: Director of Contracts & Grants and Director of Sponsored Research at FAMU.  Also is an experienced grants writer/administrator.  

 

MICHAEL R. SIMMONS 
Education:  B.S/M.S Computer Information Science 
Current Job Status:  Infrastructure Lead/Security Manager, FAMU Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) 
Qualifications:  Has experience in software engineering; Check-Point Firewall CCs, Microsoft Certified System Engineer, Creston Digital Medial Certified System Engineer.  Assigned as a Technical Manager on three projects through the complete Software Development Life Cycle.  Served as PeopleSoft Environment Information Manager, BlueCross/BlueShield, and Jacksonville, FL.   
  
 
HERBERT BAILEY 
Education: B.S. Accounting SBI   
Current Job Status: Assistant V/P for Business and Finance for Academic Affairs, Florida A&M University  
Qualifications: Serves as V/P for business and finance for Academic Affairs; 25 years budget/finance and auditing experience with the State of Florida. Served as interim Budget Director of FAMU; also served as Athletic Business Director. Monitors a $100 million budget for the 12 schools, colleges and other units at FAMU. Provides guidance and recommendations to the Deans and Directors on fiscal matters.  
  
GWENDOLYN J. SPENCER 
Education:  B.S Social Welfare; M.S. Social work; Jurist Doctorate.

Qualifications:  Manages a law practice office, including but not limited to following areas of practice: Real-Estate Law, Elder Law, Guardianship, Probate Wills and Trusts.  Also represents individuals, businesses and institutions in legal matters
